Important News
Since Norma announced that she indeed has breast cancer, we have noticed a drastic change in phone calls and donations to The Healing Touch. At first we assumed the change in donations was due to the economy. However, we have learned that it may be due to many not understanding what the future is for The Healing Touch. Many assume that since Norma has breast cancer, she will no longer be doing the program, and the program will cease. This is not the case at all.
Yes, Norma has breast cancer. Yes, she is having surgery. Yes, she will be away from the microphone for at least two weeks. No! The Healing Touch is not going away. Norma will have guest hosts filling in for her during her surgery and recovery. Norma may pop in from time to time to update everyone on her recovery. She has no intention of discontinuing the show. The program will continue to air every Monday through Friday from midnight to 2 AM Eastern. We will continue to update you through the blog of Norma's progress. She will need your prayers for a complete recovery and a surgery that is as pain free as possible. She continues to need and invite your calls and your donations to The Healing Touch. |
People are sick, hurting and lonely. In the dark hours of the evening, they become even more desperate. This is when psychic hotlines, pornographic movies, drug and alcohol use and harmful Internet activities are most prevalent.
Statistically, these late hours of loneliness and despair are when the most suicides occur. These are the people Norma feels most called to listen and minister to. Her years of street ministry, evangelism training and healing ministry involvement, as a teacher and minister, more than qualify her for The Healing Touch midnight to 2:00 a.m. radio program on Christian radio.
Her vision to listen to, encourage and pray with listeners fills a void in radio markets. Her vision of having available trained prayer ministers to further strengthen the callers makes this ministry even more important.
Norma Dearing is executive director of Impact Communications Ministries, a non-profit Christian organization which produces the radio program The Healing Touch. Norma is the featured speaker on this daily program that teaches the biblical message of the healing power of Jesus.
